Joe wit VectraJo's Vectra V6

Jo brought this Vectra to us in February of this year to carry out repairs to get the car through the MOT and left us a list nearly as long as your arm with the major problem being that the car would not pass any of the new, more stringent emissions test. After some discussion about what would be needed with Jo and more importantly as to if it was worth the expense to resolve all of the problems or better to simply sell the car and get another one, we offered to give her a little help as it was obvious to us that she really did love her Vectra.

Jo had bought the car a year earlier from a local car dealer but ever since the purchase the car had been plagued with numerous faults and significantly needed to have the head gaskets replacing only two months after purchasing the car. It had managed to kill the head gaskets on both banks so the garage replaced both gaskets under warranty and off she went again.

Sadly under a year later the car was found back in a garage having to have the heads removed for a second time. The cause was due to the fact that when the former garage had replaced the head gaskets they had removed all the valves but not re-fitted new valve stem oil seals. Hence the cause of not being able to get the car through the MOT and why the car was running so poorly as it was constantly trying to foul up the plugs.

As arrived rather a big dirty mess! As prepared at WDR ready for a new clean life!

The job was taken into hand and whilst the heads were off WDR made the decision to give a small amount of enhancement to the engine whilst it was apart. Including polished valves, triple angle valve seats, careful port matching etc.

The finished job and with a full MOT!
